SkillUpWork does not operate an Escrow system and does not hold, freeze, or release payments.
All payments are exchanged directly between Clients and Freelancers.
1. Payments & Project Agreements
- All payments are handled directly between Clients and Freelancers using their chosen external method (UPI, bank transfer, PayPal, etc.).
- SkillUpWork does not freeze, hold, verify, or release any funds.
- Clients and Freelancers are fully responsible for agreeing on project scope, milestones, timelines, and payment terms.
2. Milestone & Work Delivery Process
- Clients may divide projects into milestones.
- Freelancers must provide proof of work before requesting payment.
- Clients should review submissions within a reasonable time (recommended within 5 days).
- Once payment is made externally, SkillUpWork cannot reverse or refund it.
3. Refunds (Non-Escrow System)
Because SkillUpWork does not hold funds, refunds must be arranged directly between Client and Freelancer.
SkillUpWork cannot issue refunds or intervene in payment transactions.
4. Dispute Initiation
Either party may raise a dispute within 5 days of delivery if:
- Work does not match agreed scope
- Client refuses to pay despite completed work
- Freelancer fails to deliver after receiving payment
- A party stops responding for more than 72 hours
5. Dispute Resolution Process
- Negotiation Phase (3 Days) – Direct resolution via SkillUpWork messaging
- Mediation Phase (5 Days) – SkillUpWork reviews evidence and provides non-binding recommendation
- Final Platform Action – Warnings, restrictions, suspension, or termination (no financial enforcement possible)
SkillUpWork cannot force payments or refunds in a non-escrow model.
6. Fees and Deductions
SkillUpWork may charge a Dispute Handling Fee (up to 5% of dispute value) for mediation support.
7. Non-Cooperation
Failure to respond or provide evidence may result in the dispute being closed in favor of the cooperating party and possible account penalties.
8. Governing Law
All disputes are governed by the laws of India.
